Scope of role

Vogue, the world’s most prestigious magazine, launched for the very first time in the Nordics in 2021. Under the name Vogue Scandinavia, the publication covers the best of conscious fashion, design and culture from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland. 

Vogue Scandinavia is now looking for a Digital Managing Editor for a 12-month fixed term contract. Supporting the Editor-in-Chief, the Digital Managing Editor leads Vogue Scandinavia’s editorial operations and strategy – overseeing planning, commissioning and publishing. The role coordinates priorities and people, and ensures content performs in line with company goals. 

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Editor-in-Chief on editorial direction and features strategies
  • Oversee all daily publishing across Vogue Scandinavia’s channels
  • Edit and publish several articles per day across all categories
  • Manage and support a team of 4-5 editors and occasional editorial interns
  • Commission and assign stories across in-house editorial team and external freelancers
  • Coordinate editorial with sales, production and fashion teams as needed
  • Maintain a consistent editorial tone and quality across all platforms and content
  • Forward planning including preparation for seasonal priorities and tentpole moments
  • Ensure the team meets performance targets, including traffic, SEO and subscriber goals
  • Manage editorial budgets and commissioning resources
  • Serve as key contact for Conde Nast global network 

Requirements

  • Native or near-native fluency in English
  • Degree in journalism, communications, or a related field 
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in editorial roles
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and workflows
  • Strong commissioning and editing experience
  • Experience working with audience strategy, SEO/ AEO and performance-led content
  • Experience managing budgets and contracts
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced newsroom environment 
  • Experience working within international publishing environments or networked editorial structures (e.g. Condé Nast or equivalent) preferred
