Scope of role

Vogue, the world’s most prestigious magazine, launched for the very first time in the Nordics in 2021. Under the name Vogue Scandinavia, the publication covers the best of fashion, interior, design and culture from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland. 

Vogue Scandinavia is now looking for a Fashion & Culture Editor. Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor, this role will lead and develop Vogue Scandinavia’s fashion and culture categories. Based and working solely from our Stockholm office, the role requires a passionate and driven editor with deep expertise across fashion, as well as contemporary culture and entertainment – both in the Nordics and globally.

The Fashion & Culture Editor will be responsible for shaping both categories’ content and performance – pitching, writing, commisioning, editing and executing compelling stories, while helping grow audience engagement and commercial opportunities within the space. The role will also be required to represent Vogue Scandinavia externally across relevant events, launches and key industry moments.

Working closely with the Editor-in-Chief, Fashion Director and wider fashion team, the Fashion & Culture Editor will contribute to Vogue Scandinavia’s fashion reporting and storytelling across digital and print – spanning runway coverage, designer profiles, industry news, celebrity, music, film, books and broader cultural movements.


Key responsibilities

●       Lead Vogue Scandinavia’s fashion and culture editorial categories, alongside Editor in Chief and Managing Editor

●       Working closely with the Editor in Chief, Fashion Director and fashion team, oversee the publication’s fashion reporting and storytelling

●       Identify news, angles and opportunities amongst the cultural landscape to pitch in: industry trends, celebrities, music, film, books, etc 

●       Pitch, commission, write, edit and publish stories relevant to both categories (and occasionally outside the categories) 

●       Drive audience growth and category performance through strong editorial judgement, SEO/AEO best practices and digital publishing expertise

●       Represent Vogue Scandinavia externally at launches, events, industry dinners, fairs and key design moments in the Nordics and internationally

●       Build and maintain strong relationships across the fashion and culture industries

●       Work closely with the Partnerships team to support the commercial success and growth of the category through strategic editorial opportunities and brand collaborations

●       Collaborate with marketing, production and other teams where relevant to category

●       Maintain Vogue Scandinavia’s editorial tone and quality across all output


Requirements

●       Native or near-native fluency in English

●       Minimum 5+ years’ experience in journalism, editing or publishing within fashion, culture or luxury lifestyle media

●       Deep knowledge of and passion for Scandinavian and international fashion and culture

●       Strong understanding of SEO, audience strategy and digital publishing platforms

●       Excellent editorial judgement and commissioning instincts

●       Highly organised, collaborative and comfortable within fast-paced editorial environment

●       Strong network across the interiors, design and cultural industries preferred
