Scope of role


Vogue, the world’s most prestigious fashion publication, launched for the first time in the Nordics in 2021. Under the name Vogue Scandinavia, the publication covers the best of fashion, beauty, culture, interiors and design from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland.


Vogue Scandinavia is now looking for an experienced journalist and editor to join the team as Fashion Features Editor.


The Fashion Features Editor will lead and develop Vogue Scandinavia’s fashion editorial category across digital and print. This is a journalism-led role for an editor with strong reporting, writing and commissioning instincts, alongside a sophisticated understanding of digital content strategy and how fashion journalism reaches and engages audiences.


Based from our Stockholm office, the Fashion Features Editor will be responsible for shaping and executing Vogue Scandinavia’s fashion reporting – identifying angles, commissioning writers and contributors, and writing and editing compelling fashion journalism and shopping content. The role will work closely with various teams to extend fashion storytelling across platforms, while collaborating on commercially supported fashion content and opportunities.


Key responsibilities

  • Lead Vogue Scandinavia’s fashion features and reporting across digital and print, alongside the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor
  • Develop and lead a digital content strategy spanning industry news, designer and talent profiles, interviews, runway reporting, trends, analysis and long-form features
  • Pitch, commission, write, edit and publish stories and angles within Scandinavian and international fashion
  • Build and manage a strong network of freelance writers, contributors, industry sources and fashion talent across the Nordics and internationally
  • Work alongside the Shopping Editor to develop and execute fashion shopping content
  • Represent Vogue Scandinavia externally at launches, events, industry dinners, fairs and key design moments in the Nordics and internationally
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the fashion industries
  • Work closely with the Partnerships team to support the commercial success and growth of the category through strategic editorial opportunities and brand collaborations
  • Collaborate with marketing, production and other teams where relevant to category
  • Maintain Vogue Scandinavia’s editorial tone and quality across all output

 

Requirements

  • Native or near-native fluency in English
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in journalism, editing or publishing within fashion, culture or luxury lifestyle media
  • Demonstrable experience reporting, interviewing, writing and commissioning fashion journalism
  • Strong understanding of SEO, audience strategy and digital publishing platforms
  • Excellent editorial judgement and commissioning instincts
  • Highly organised, collaborative and comfortable within fast-paced editorial environment
  • Strong network across the interiors, design and cultural industries preferred
